Rhymes of the Heart

Marshmallow Clouds

Daydreams she shared with no one
her little head in marshmallow clouds
bouncing jumping from one to the next
disappearing and hiding from crowds

She'd run through the fluff laughing
her heart all but bursting with glee
for in marshmallow clouds she was happy
and could be all she wanted to be

A dancer all dressed in pink
that would match the blush on her cheeks
spinning and spinning just like a top
on each marshmallow cloud that she seeks

A runner born just to win
with two legs that were muscled and strong
grab the brass ring in every daydream
for in marshmallow clouds nothings wrong

She sat in a chair with wheels
reality wiped the daydreams away
while the marshmallow clouds drifted on
she smiled for they'd be back one day
