^*^*^* Window Of My Mind ^*^*^*

Today I sat and stared through the window of my mind
Kaleidoscopes of memories flashed by of every kind
The years rolled back in retrospect of scenes of long ago
My youth filled with laughter depicted brightly with a glow
Through years of adolescence, as life turned quite perplexed
I saw a slender pingtail girl who faced a time of stress
For in those years of growing up I found the hidden truth
The facts of my adoption rocked me down to my very roots
Only my sweet Redeemer knew the turmoils of my soul
In His great compassionate heart, I then became whole
With a sense of purpose that young girl forged ahead
Buried deeply in the covers of the many books she read
My love of writing was conceived and writing I did learn
Though it was not before many years that it finally was born
I can say it took my writings quite a long time to grow
From the seeds of words I read, inspiration began to show
The need for mental theraphy was presented after my stroke
So my old heart's weakness came as a surprise to a few folks
As I stared at the scenery through the window of my mind
I saw a gentle woman emerge with a heart good and kind
One who is not scared to share her humble heart's contents
By writing poetry on various topics during hours well spent

Note:
Writing has helped me so much to express my feelings.
I cannot imagine a life without writing.
