Splash Of Laughter

Without your splash of laughter-
My day is quiet and slow-
My thoughts reduce to circles
And I lose my push and go.

I sit in silence waiting
For your knocking on my door-
With arms out wide and open
And pleasures held in store.

The time apart is painful
And full of too much thought-
The space around is haunted
With echoes to be caught.

And so I sit here longing
For your smile and funny ways-
To brighten up my living
And fill my little days.

Joy Weare.
