A Mother To A ManThere is a girl that's not my mum But let's face facts it's true~ Doing all a mother does She's there all the time right through~ They say to some extent it's so That when a woman weds a man~ She in fact adopts another child Only higher does he stand~ Doing all that she'd do for a child With extras many and gallore~ She is simply on duty all the time With all her love and care and more~ More duties than in any job Performing all and every single day~ Nothing is too much trouble for her A mother to a man in every way~ I know that I myself would not survive If this girl she was not mine~ To me she's more than a mother How much I adore her ongoing love divine~ And here comes yet another mothers day And with alkl married men having one~ I too shall show my unending appreciation As I've tried to do since the day that we begun~ Terrence Michael Sutton Copyright 2007 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
