Seventh Street

* a little sarcastic but it does have a message*

Seventh Street

Gotta a quarter in my pocket
nothing monetary to offer
Gotta a quick wit
but I lost my diploma
I offer myself in shades of gray
I am not a millionaire
but I am working on it

so down on seventh street
a sign said meet your maker
and no one knows your status there
no one even cares
so why is it such a difference here?

Gotta a green ugly pinto
but it gets me where I need to go
Gotta a cracked watch
but it still goes tick to-ck
first appearance, last words
I can't believe the snickering
the quiet judgment of one,
the chorus of a herd

so down on seventh street
a sign said meet your maker
and no one knows your status there
no one even cares
so why is it such a difference here?

Oh heaven, oh seventh street
once there
are you still seeking your enemies?
Oh heaven, oh seventh street
once there
God, the only true judgment
shall you meet
