Do They Not Know?
Do they not know
What's it's like these days?
To live a life away from war?
To be able to laugh and play?
Do they not know
What's it's like to be a child?
But, to only hold a gun in their hands
And run around so wild.
Do they not know
What it's like to hold a stuffed toy?
To just be surrounded by rubble
While their lives are being destroyed.
Do they not know
What's it's like to hold a smile?
Children of war, seem sad to me
And, their lives are so worthwhile.
Do they not know
What it's like to be free from war?
While we just sit around doing nothing
And silently close our doors.
