On my own one day down by the bay
I was there fishing on the rocky bank~
A woman with a little boy
Came up to watch sitting there on a plank~
The little boy was from the special school
And she had taken him out for a walk~
He seemed to love fishing so
And so we two began to talk~
Would you catch a fish for me
He said looking a little shy~
Why yes of couse I would I said
I'll get one for you by and by~
There were birds flying low
Over the water and diving for a feed~
Popping up and going down
And flyying past with speed~
Very soon I caught a little fish
And on my line hung it in front of his big eyes#
He smiled like a smile I'd never seen
But then came the perfect prize~
A bird flew past his little face
And took the fish right from my line~
Right in front of his great big smile
Which was now as wide as a bottle of wine~
The look of surprise upon his face
This very sight to see~
Was perfect timing to say the least
And he cried then out with glee~
He looked up at his minder
Did you see that did you , did you ~
She laughed so loud and then replied
Oh yes I did it's true~
He was not well but I can tell
That made his very day~
He will never ever forget this ever
She then bent near me to say~
I could not believe it myself for awhile
Could not have asked for more~
To see the smile upon his little face
And yes he will remember that always thats for sure ~
