So many ever so young these days
And in these modern times today~
Are seeing love and marriage
As the most needed thing come what may~
Well love is all so very sublime and beautiful
But if I'd have known back then~
I'd have not been in such an almighty hurry
As I was in some ways away back when~
I was as well young myself but
I mostly wanted to work hard and get ahead~
And to hopefully get to save some of my earnings
After expences and daily bread~
How I'd love to be able to start a new trend
To have the young leave love till when~
They had first set themselves up in life
And were more self supportive and maybe then~
With them having their whole lifes ahead of them
Working holidays and adventure too~
Not to forget a real good education
As all above will for sure look after you~
Might seem a bit of a drag
But looking back I made my share of blues~
I dated a girl and the next thing I knew
I was buying baby clothes and shoes~
All those things that so many married
Wished to God that they had done~
All of which is waiting for right now
Those so lucky as they are still young~
There is a whole world out there waiting
And it's getting smaller every single day~
So many good times and adventures
And education from university life and play~
But ... Once you have a family
All of that might just never be~
Because now .. you do have a family
And don't forget responsibility~
Without all those years of saving
And education too~
It's so very hard every single yard
I know .. Because I've been there it's true~
