I SIT

I sit with this sad girl
In this rocking chair
Of my great love
I know she's aware

She's bawled so many times today
Inside she thinks my love went away
I give to her, I live through her hands
She tries so hard to obey my commands

They're there on her living room wall
At night she prays to give her all
But lately all just isn't much
Because she's afraid to lose that man's human touch

I touch her heart
He strokes her skin
In her mind
We're both King of men

But I'm not a man
I'm God to understand
I see and hear her desperate pain
All through her life she prays to me again

I forgive her, I live her
She is my faithful woman
I am her holy sir;
And she has heaven comin'.
