I want to open my eyes to the sunshine
Then a feeling of well-being will be mine,
It lifts my spirits and makes life worthwhile,
It also gives me a reason to smile.
The cobwebs are blown away by the warm breeze
Clearing my head and filling my lungs with ease,
Giving me the renewed energy each day
To face things with added strength, come what may.
I need the assurance of your love around me
An ever steady hand to guide and protect me,
Your love will carry me through whatever I face,
Hold my tightly forever in your embrace.
I need to be wrapped up tight by nightfall
She only leaves me when morning should call,
My friend in the quietest moment of the day,
She never repeats the things I do or say.
