Childhood Memories

Ever so long are the hours you're gone
Inside I'm helpless and all alone
Even the dog wants you to come home
Ever so long are the hours you're gone

I watch from the window for to see
Your car, loaded with goodies for me
Anticipating impatiently
I watch from the window for to see

Those were the days I remember well
When mom went shopping for things on sale
Grocery day, that paper bag smell
Those were the days I remember well!
