My Life In Words

Dear Sister

Dear Sister,

Remember those little pig-tails
Mom use to put in our hair?
Sometimes they were so tight
We'd wish they weren't there.

Remember the cool-aid stains
on our faces,
We had to be reminded to
say our graces.

Remember when I ran and fell
and scraped up my knee,
You came to my aide you were
really concerned for me.

Remember when we'd play doctor
and you'd always be sick,
And if you didn't take your
medicine, that meant you'd have
to take the stick.

Remember when we had our first
dates, soon come after a kiss,
And all those times we'd sit up
late for the phone call we
couldn't miss.

Now we don't talk much, we
have families of our own,
I wouldn't have wanted to grow
up so fast if I'd only known.

I miss our secrets, and I miss
our talks,
I miss the times we went for
those walks.

Thank you sister for making our
time endure,
And thank you for being my
sister.
