A Chance for Love

She was sitting at a sidewalk table
Reading a romance novel, sipping a Latte
He was reading a page of directions
Being new to the city he headed her way
Time has found them both to be without love
And they each had so many stories they could share
Their lives thus far had been so similar
It could only be fate that had brought them both there
He stopped in front of the sidewalk café
Checked his watch to see if he had enough time
Sitting at a table with his back to hers
Ordered a coffee and a small slice of Key Lime
Hearing his order she thought with a sigh
Reminiscing over all the mornings
She had succumbed to her favorite pie
Sliding her chair from the table bumped his
And so doing the jar caused her to drop her book
Without hesitation he picked it up
Stood to return it, into her eyes gave a look
Apologizing she started to blush
He assured her of no harm and wished a good day
Taking the book she thanked him so kindly
They both smiled at each other...then she walked away!
