Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Shadows and Shades

You were the heart that flowed so greatly,
You were the glass that shattered so slowly.
In the night, where twilight fears to tread,
You grasped my hand, I followed you home
And swore never to tell your secret to those
Who noticed the absence you left, like a hole
In the earth, the link that connects the chains
Together. Whereas faults are imminent in life,
You blinked away catastrophe and showered
The stars upon the brilliant eyes who could
Not stop with the flooding of cheerless tears.
When the heart stops flowing blood to regions,
I felt the cold throw blanket pieces of moments
In my face and dared me to make up a new ending.
But instead, I chose understanding. Where
Once there was grief was immense satisfaction
At seeing your suffering wane away, in the
Gloaming, at dusk, or wherever your soul sits
To watch the day awakened, and the night conclude.
You were always shadows and shades in the
Light, but perhaps the sun has a spot for you.
