A visionary painter had a plan to share
He talked a lot about it before he even dared
An island he built the size of a football field
The intricate design he dreamed of was revealed
Three hundred thousand plastic bottles supports the base
He filled each one of the bottles with water just in case
His floating paradise took six and a half years to build
He added grass and got all those empty bottles filled
His favorite fruit trees he grew in a garden too
Eight cats and one dog made up his entire crew
He sailed confidently on the island to Mexico way
But his dream was to sail on the ocean one day
Suddenly a hurricane swept over his island home
His bottles were scattered away in the foam
Not a quitter he started to rebuild again
He built three more times from start to end
Peace and nature he enjoyed as he lives alone
Leaving his family, his work, and his home
Everyone has encouraging words to say
His island dream did not ever fade away
