From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
How many times
Do I go through the same routine
Another lonely day
Followed by a lonely night
Then off to my dreams
And here replays the following scene

You reach out to me
Telling me that you never meant
To leave me lonely
That all this time you’ve been
Trying to get a hold of me

You’re so glad that
I finally picked up the phone
It was your heart
That made the call
You couldn’t take
Being without me anymore
That’s you out in the hall
Please come and answer your door

We stand face to face
Then it fast forwards
And we’re side by side
In front of a priest
Somewhere up in the balcony
Stands a child
With doves that he’s about to release

When we say I do
That's supposed to be his cue
There aren’t any words to express
How beautiful you look in your dress
I can’t take my eyes off you
Not to mention catch my breath
We’re exchanging vows
With only two words left

In the distance I hear bells
In an instant I’m awake
Trying to figure out what the …
There’s no you, there’s no beauty
There’s no priest, no doves
Just me, just my love
For you, for eternity
Feeling as if I could scream
Damn These Dreams
