Guiding Light
I was walking alone down a
path of rock,
My heart tossed and torn like
a worn out sock.
I danced with the devil and
dined with the demons,
I refused to believe that
I had any sins.
My world was dark and I
stumbled and fell,
The shadows of yesterday
in my heart did dwell.
Then as my world crumbled
like a building of stone,
And I stood in the darkness
all alone.
I heard a voice beckoning
me to come near,
and I opened my heart so
your message I did hear.
You opened my eyes so there
would be no more fright,
You became my guiding
light.
I listened to your voice
as you did call,
And now I know in my
heart I will never fall.
Stumble I may on stones
of delight,
But I will never forget
your my guiding light.
