ENGLISH EASTERS

Two ladies I work with
Say they do not hide
Easter eggs in England

They delight me
As their accents
Roll from voice boxes

Conditioned far away
From this cow town
Where the Easter Bunny

Hides eggs for the kids
Representing new birth
So now we know

The Easter Bunny
Brings the eggs so
Chickens bawl their eyes out

Crying for the babies
Kidnapped by rabbits so
Americans can jolly well celebrate

All those colored eggs
In creamed eggs and toast
On Easter morning.
