Poetry For Everyday People

Slow Down Time, Slow Down

I'm young at heart
forty one and I
think that's damn young,
I hope I age gracefully
like poetry between hearts,
I hope I always wanna go
for walks, smell flowers,
notice the little things,
the blue flames of life,

I hope I can still walk
down to the bar when I'm
eighty for a cold
Guinness and some blues,
my note book under my arm
Zen minded, kind hearted,
dressed in the finest of
cloth, style, individuality,
cool, calm, exploding with
poetry,

my love sipping a glass of
wine content, beautiful, happy,
discussing our next
trip to our apartment in France,
picnics in Amsterdam, going to
check out our eighty year old
brother/blues legend Bernard
Allison, sweet life last, sweet
life last,

sweet life last.
