Passion and Parsnips

The say parsnips have aphrodisiac properties …..
feast on this!

I thought I'd make some parsnip soup,
Well seasoned to my taste,
All you do is peel them,
That's the only bit that's waste.

A vegetable stock cube,
For a big pot, plop in two,
I used my pressure cooker,
But any pot will do.

You'll need a lot of parsnips,
I bought eight, and large in size,
Two onions that you peel and slice,
And sting your blinking eyes.

You can add some potato,
Cut in cubes and not too thick,
And if you do it that way,
You'll find that it cooks quick,

Just chop up all the parsnips,
And throw them in the pot,
Add onions and potato,
That really is the lot.

Bring it all up to the boil,
And then just let it simmer,
And then in twenty minutes,
You'll have soup that is a winner.

When the parsnips have gone mushy,
Just break them up a bit,
Mild chilli powder goes in next,
A teaspoon and a bit.

You take your hand held blender,
And give the lot a stirring,
Served piping hot with crusty bread,
A combination that is winning!
