Heart Of The Matter

Now Re-Invented

They can be persistent,
The thieves of the night,
They sully your words,
If you don't make them right,

They capture your essence,
They steel it away,
You're now re-invented,
In the game that they play,

You speak a new language,
Your birthright is gone,
They don't like your music,
The words are all wrong,

And even your feelings,
Are now torn apart,
They take for themselves,
The true love in your heart,

You're suddenly someone,
You don't recognize,
And you're madly in love,
With someone you despise,

They insult, with the notion,
You don't know, your own mind,
Your soul is deluded,
Because, love is blind,

But you'll come to your senses,
Because, it's God's will,
That you'll both climb together,
The high ordained hill,

The voices have spoken,
Yet still they don't hear,
They don't see, their behaviour,
Could well instill, fear,

I'm unsure of their motives,
What they think, they'll achieve,
But I'll no longer read them,

And, NO, I won't leave.
