Where's My Voice?

Where's My Voice?

It's all about the top
the leader, the president
It's all about the groups
that protest
on the White House door
and it's two steps forward
three steps back
racial tension still exist
prisons too full
evil at it's capacity

so where's my voice?
I could speak
but chose a silent course
so where's my motivation
I blame it on you, you, and you
but never on my own doorstep
so where is the light
right where the lantern got left

It's all about the rich's man ride
glittering lifestyles
morals go bye bye
on the balcony
waves the Hollywood sign
but most of us stuck under it
living the American lie
and the poor can't get a break
while we watch the next generation die

so where's my voice?
I could speak
but chose a silent course
so where's my motivation
I blame it on you, you, and you
but never on my own doorstep
so where is the light
right where the lantern got left

we all jumped overboard
we are swimming
but to where
how can we find
what we try so hard to deny
when all the good gets thrown out
when all the right choices
stayed locked in our mouths
we have so much power
too bad we waste it
on all this that doesn't even count.....
