From the Heart Through the Pen

Alcohol Induced

I have to stop drinking
There's so much that goes on
Thought it would be my cure
It will aid in my moving on
All it does is increase the thinking
Makes me listen to all those songs
That remind me of you, remind me of me
Of us and the life we had; our love, our past
Makes me think that we will have a future
One that this time will last
Takes me into this fantasy world
For some reason I have no fear
Even though I shed lots of tears
I'm calling you just to find a clue
Maybe you're doing the same thing too

WTH, this is supposed to make me forget
Erase the memories; instead of being miserable
I'm supposed to be happy, enjoying life's luxuries
Not thinking of the one who was incomparable
I'm supposed to meet some random stranger
Who'd love to please me with some favors
But instead I'm looking at you and me
Inside an album, it's our anniversary pictures
Next to it is a box full of cards and letters
That I've read two or three times
I guess I haven't quite figured out
This getting over thing just yet

There goes another message on your machine
Won't realize this until the next morning
By then how many times your phone rings
I just won't know
I swear I'm trying to let you go
Maybe in some way it's you not letting me
Like some old curse that someone placed
Every lady I talk to I swear they all have your face
Telling me you want back in your life
Why do you keep haunting me
I guess its all alcohol induced
I would place the bottle down, but what's the use
It seems it actually helps my sleepless nights
So as I go for another Heineken
Let me make another entry
In FHTP
