From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
Remedy

I was nursing a broken heart
So much in my life at that moment
Had just fallen apart
Felt as if I were walking in the desert
My heart seeking to quench its thirst
The lowest point in my life, wow this was a first
Thought I was part of some awful curse

Oh how my dreams were shattered
My spirit diminished and battered
All my so called friends scattered
Tried telling myself that none of this mattered
Boy who was I kidding
There was no escaping this empty feeling
Thought there would be some healing in kneeling

I awoke to find the pain seemed to cease
My spirit had some unknown peace
Then I looked and found her by my side
Kneeling with me picking up the pieces
In her I began to confide
Soon my love for her began to increase
My heart she began to own
No longer a need for the lease

The songs I began to hear had such a sweet melody
My life felt as if it belonged in a symphony
She became my one and only
No longer knew what it was like to be lonely
The Lord has finally answered my plea
Sent me the lady meant to be my wifey
Taking me from the desert to the valley
Boy did she come at the right time with her remedy
