 Voices of the Lord

We Heard, Not One Word

The world looks on
as VA Tech is focused
this week

We had a deadly shooting
and One was left out
who is meek

He walked among us
on this earth, He demonstrated
the heart of His Father God

His name is Jesus Christ,
the Son of God, not Allah or Buddha,
Jesus, You, we applaud

Forgive us Lord,
that Your name was
refused to be heard

How far we have drifted from
Your plan God, about You Jesus,
we heard, not one word

Not one mentioned Your name
Jesus, it is called
politically incorrect

Jesus comfort those who lost
family and friends, Jesus,
You do not neglect

It makes me wonder
why over the years
You have been kicked out

Of our conversations and convocations
it's no wonder in our country
we face spiritual drought

Let us turn back to God,
Jesus, You are the way,
the truth and the life

Let us remember,
this is about You, Jesus Christ
You already won the battle, this strife

Yesterday I watched on TV,
as the speakers at the VA Tech
convocation called on Allah and Buddha
in their efforts to minister to the survivors,
family and friends of victims of the shooting.
I was saddened as not one word
was spoken of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

This is not to reduce or demean
the pain and suffering of family
and friends affected, even the family
of the shooter. This is meant only
to point out Jesus Christ was left out.

This morning I read an article
from WorldNetDaily.com about this.
This poem was written
after reading this article.

John 14:1, 6, 10

1 Let not your heart be troubled;
you believe in God,
believe also in Me.
6 Jesus said to him,
"I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through Me.
10 Do you not believe
that I am in the Father,
and the Father in Me?
The words that I speak
to you I do not speak on
My own authority;
but the Father who dwells
in Me does the works.

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come to Me, all you who labor
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you
and learn from Me, for I am gentle
and lowly in heart, and you will find
rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy
and My burden is light."
