Musings by The Poet Loriet
Unconditional Love
I need a hug or...
better yet,
someone who thinks
the way I eat a salad
is adorable,
someone to watch me
as a big bite
of creamy lettuce
hangs out of my mouth
and I dab it
with my napkin
as I giggle and blush...
but he doesn't notice.
He just stares at my lips,
thinking about kissing me.
I want someone special
to gaze at me in the morning
with my uncombed hair
and a big fuzzy
very un-sexy bathrobe on...
as if I were
the most beautiful woman
he'd ever seen.
I want to wear glasses,
scrubs, a ponytail,
paint splattered in
my hair...and that
special someone
would hug me anyways...
tightly, warmly,
and reluctant
to let me go.
Yes, I need a hug,
but the kind of hug
I need is one for
good times and bad,
in sickness and health.
I'm having a
really bad time
right now...
and there's no one
out there
with arms
that wide open.
