I wasn't always this way
Spirit broken
Sick and worn
Heart tattered
Will gone
But I have had my Moments
The days my children were
laid in my arms
My hopes and dreams for them
never torn
When I graduated from school
often wondered if this I could do
Days when life was fun
Running and laughing in the sun
The days I don't cry
for my lost son
Not very often, do they come
Those times I feel
with him I am one
Yes I have had my Moments
Grandsons laid in my willing arms
Watching them grow away from harm
A loving smile, a nana hug
Thats what Moments are made of
A pat on the back
for a job well done
Time on a mountain
watching the sun
Friends, who make me feel
cherished and loved
Always ready to give me a hug
Have my back without a shrug
Moments are what life is about
Makes you smile with no doubt
Though they have been few and far between
Moments will live within my dreams
