Virginia Tech

darkness takes over the light,
in a way that isn't right.
darkness brings no hope for tomorrow,
only hearts left with sorrow.

 now, as people died,
 a thousand tears God cries.
 one person so lost,
 so, many paid the cost.

 those left behind,
 pain they can't hide.
 to those who gave,
 so, lives was saved.

 gave up so much,
 a moment touched.
 a madman waving, shooting guns,
as people found ways to run.

 so many taken,
so maybe we will be waken.
 Virginia Tech will live on,
 with a memory so strong.

 love enough,
 prayers go up,
 know God will be there,
with so many a home to share.

 angels working,
 a world hurting.
 what brought this on,
 this hate so strong.

 candles burning,
as about each one we are learning.
 what brought this about,
at all we want to shout.
