Poetry For Everyday People

My Space Madness

Some people have been hurt
so much and so often
they just expect the worst,
a smile is too suspicious
for them, a kind word confuses
them,

my space has a world of women
who think everything in life
has to do with the way they look?
and it makes me sad that this is
the state of human communication,

men and women can be friends, are
friends, if you live in circles where
that seems impossible, get out and
feel the world,

I write about people having each others
backs, respect, integrity, judgment free,
a helping hand, the poetry of the underdog,
the state of the world that has so many alone,
the cruelty that seems endless, lack of truth
kills this world daily,

too many automated responses, my eyes
are interested in your eyes not your ass, unless
you model for a living why the exterior obsession?
is it billboards and magazines?  are you lost in space
on my space trying to find your place and don't like
your face?

I call all my friends my beautiful friends, all
people my beautiful friends, yet every now and then
usually a woman will take this as a pick up line
of some sorts?  I am happily married, a million
miles away, how does your mind reach that conclusion?

I find it sad the shallowness, your picture isn't
your heart or your mind or your compassion or your
friendship or your love or your kindness or your talent
or your woman...

give realness a chance, communication a shot, logic
will simplify your life so much more than automated
emptiness.
