BEATEN BY THE GOAT

BEATEN BY THE GOAT

We thought we`d stop and take a break
And take a look at the black lake,
The water turned black it was said
Because someone lay in it dead.

A gravel path we had to tread
But a goat stood there much to our dread,
We tried to pass but changed our mind
A different path we had to find.

A shriek from the kids I turned to see
The goat in the car next to me,
The doors flew open and out we got
Moved so fast we were out like a shot.

The goat did sample what it could find
And Pad gave it a push from behind,
Try as we may it liked it there
The kids were just a giggling pair.

With one last shove then out it came
The kids thought it was a funny game,
We three got in and shut the door
Before the goat came back for more.

The goat was jumping at the car
Pad got crisps to take it from the car,
We cried with laughter, oh! what a sight
As the goat butted Pad and he took flight.

So we didn`t get to see the lake
We thought it best for our health`s sake,
We`d leave it to another day
When the goat would be gone, we`d pray.
