 Screams

( I wrote this after being moved by a poem that I read by Shadowfiend titled "A Feat Of Unequal Measure". It really made me think and ask myself many questions. Mine does not compare to the power his has but I just felt the need to write it. If you get a chance check out Shadow's at www.poetrypoem.com/shadowfiend.)

Screams

She screams but no one hears her
Too busy with their lives
She cries for their attention
They do not hear her cries

She has a reputation
For telling many lies
Too late to tell the truth
This poor girl finally dies

If only we would listen
And open up our eyes
We'd see a cry for help
And then we'd realize

We're here to help our neighbor
Not just to sympathize
We need to go much further
Our love we exercise

So take time out to listen
To those who agonize
You'll see the signs of trouble
It's then you'll recognize

Don't worry what others think
Just throw away your pride
Let's do it out of selflessness
And the good of all mankind
