Swimming
In an ocean of life, I am swimming
Treading water, just getting by
The water gets deeper and deeper
With every new tear that I cry
Changes are waves that come over me
Taking me under once more
If only I could get to the shallows
I'd find the courage I had once before
There is nothing out here to hold to
No hand reaching to pull me in
All that is there is the water
Cold and lifeless, killing slowly within
It's a battle I know that I'm losing
Every minute shows it is so
I could fight and try to keep going
Yet, I know I will soon just let go...
