Poetry For Everyday People
Death Of A Virgin
The moment my eyes
were betrayed
my mind began
to see
and I found
that deep
is a good place
to start
I learned things
about me
that still
amaze me
scare me
please me
words tease me
in and out of
soul cures
moments added up
fill the hollowness
within my bones
collecting life
as my mind collects
scenes for
the final cut
of flashing
neon
and I wonder if
souls are happy
when the body
gets old?
roses die
for love
and sometimes
beautifully
buried in
poetry books.
were betrayed
my mind began
to see
and I found
that deep
is a good place
to start
I learned things
about me
that still
amaze me
scare me
please me
words tease me
in and out of
soul cures
moments added up
fill the hollowness
within my bones
collecting life
as my mind collects
scenes for
the final cut
of flashing
neon
and I wonder if
souls are happy
when the body
gets old?
roses die
for love
and sometimes
beautifully
buried in
poetry books.
