Heart Of The Matter

Except, What's In The Heart

In a week I fly to London,
The city streets of gold,
A treasure trove of happiness,
Good fortune yet untold,

I'll make my little rendezvous,
With good friends, old and new,
So many plans being made for me,
Much to see, and much to do,

New luggage bought, I leave behind,
This little country scene,
This is my year to travel far,
I've yet to meet the Queen,

I know that I'll be welcomed,
With arms stretched open wide,
Avoid the paparazzi,
And take it in my stride,

Live out another dream of mine,
I'll stake my claim to fame,
Won't let it all go to my head,
It's just another game,

Smile sweetly for the cameras,
Rehearsed, I'll play my part,
I'll give them all a piece of me,
Except what's in the heart.
