Poetry For Everyday People
All In The Same Boat, So Stop Putting Holes In It
Without love
we're all dying
here alone,
I don't know
what it quiet takes
for us to know we're
in the same boat, apparently
millions of years is not enough?
from Egypt to America
from London to Sudan
from Korea to Italy
from France to Kenya
from Ireland to Spain
it's all the same,
we're all trapped living,
is it just a game people
play with themselves, not
to face the reality of life?
I mean come on my friends,
the BS is beyond stupidity,
family, good friends,
good music, art, poetry, food,
creating, innovating, laughter,
helping people who needed,
I wanna pass down to our kids
a chance, not a war, not the manics
version of how life should be,
how can anybody study history
and know what we know yet come up
with racism? there's still
idiots feeling really bad that they no
longer can have slaves, they actually feel
superior based on the color of their skin?
how 'bout that for idiots,
when some one in our families is hurt,
or badly sick, car accident, fell off
the balcony, run over by a car, and we
rush to hospitals, heart racing, we've
all shared that horrible feeling,
family, friends, trying
to make sense of it, praying, pounding the earth
to keep them alive, to find a cure,
what more is there do we need to understand?
we're trapped here together,
what part of share and respect
do you think eludes them?
we're all dying
here alone,
I don't know
what it quiet takes
for us to know we're
in the same boat, apparently
millions of years is not enough?
