Poetry For Everyday People

How To Be Rich

It's an easy formula,
find something you love
preferably or something
you're very good at,

work days, work nights,
work while you're working,
constantly educate yourself
to stay ahead, innovate,
the word NO does not exist,

work out, keep your body
tight, mind sharp, learn
to party, learn to hold
your liquor or don't drink,
learn to smile a lot,

dress to impress all the time,
never let them see you sweat,
show up early and leave late,
if you have love in your life
better make sure you're working
together or you'll never see
each other,

understand that chasing the dollar
will sacrifice your time on earth
and how you spend it, do it young,
don't wait tell your sixty to wanna
get rich, do it young and get out as
fast as you can,

don't get robbed of your senses,
there's too many millionaires trying
to make more money and more money?

once you have the houses, the toys,
the cloth, the prestige, the season
tickets, the front row seats to Tony Bennett,
the library of rare beautiful books,

stop, retire, smell the air,
travel the world, find love
or hopefully you've found it,

the money chase is endless
and a bit childish, but a good
amount of it does give you the
freedom to front row seats

and a nice limo ride so you can
enjoy your wine to it's fullest
capacity,

I am currently in
hot pursuit
but happy with
love, a six pack
and a poem.
