A Tree and Its Fruit
A good tree makes good fruit,
Deep in ground grows its root;
But bad fruit from bad trees,
Roots as own self to please.
You know what kind of tree,
Each one is when you see;
If branches far and wide,
Trusting God to abide.
They reach up to the sky,
As though to sanctify;
Praising His Holy name,
Worshiping and proclaim.
But bad trees to be weak,
Shriveled up as they seek;
Sloth into self pleasure,
Not Heavenly treasure.
Folks with deep rooted hearts,
In faith never departs;
Reaping good fruit for God,
When they honor and laud.
