No matter how far we fall,
And no matter how hard we hurt and pain;
There is always someone worse off,
So put your thinking head on again!
I have seen things that break my heart,
And felt a pain deep within;
And because of the things I have seen,
I will always prevail, and fight to win!
I thought I had hit rock bottom,
But then I saw some worse that me,
Now I call that, ‘rock bottom'
For they are in a pain only they can see!
I know of two boys that are so brave;
With the many afflictions they both bear,
The worst you can ever imagine,
Now that's ‘rock bottom' right there!
Yet they are both paraplegics,
And both had a stroke and are in a chair;
Now that's what I call ‘rock bottom'…
Yep, that's it, ‘rock bottom's' right there.
They have such harsh impediments,
One can speak, and one can not,
But they smile away, most every day;
Even with the ‘rock bottom' they've got.
Such brave boys, brothers age 12…
Who have such a lot of strength inside!
And though they have these problems,
They hold a smile that fills you full of pride.
Now I have faced many a trial in life;
Yeah, 2 brain tumours to name but a few,
18 surgeries and more to come;
But I do what I have to do!
And that's never to feel the worst,
Because there is far worse than that,
Look around, see what I see;
And tell me, where's your ‘rock bottom' at?
This is not to make light of things,
Other problems that people do bear,
But just to show you the other side;
And have you see; there's worse out there…
