Make It Right

Make It Right

I hate myself
because I didn't remember you well
I could have stopped
but I didn't
I could have said no
but I wouldn't
and what makes a person
throw away a jewel?
I can't think of anything other than
being utterly stupid
so sorry I hurt you so deeply
the rewind of life don't work
and trust doesn't come cheaply

and all these broken dreams
that busted at the seams
on a all too easy lie
on a tear dropped sky
it was the backdrop to heartache
it was the hardest road
but a truth finally I couldn't deny

oh I wish sometimes
I didn't have so much impulse
a wreck less streak
a demon to beat
can I just tell the world now
on loud speak
don't come near me
I am all the insecurities you'll ever be
a masked character
with too much gun powder
I am shooting up my loved ones
in record style

and all these broken dreams
that busted at the seams
on a all too easy lie
on a tear dropped sky
it was the backdrop to heartache
it was the hardest road
but a truth finally I couldn't deny

where was my honesty?
Lost in an all consuming pile
it didn't happen overnight
but somewhere I crossed the line
and it never just affects one
it can tear apart so many lives
it was the hardest road
but I found with God
I could one day make it right
