The scraping of branches
against the window's glass
a late spring shower
that makes its final pass.
Raindrops falling
like prisms created by magic
and here I am inside
protected from the storm.
Lightning tossed
across the vast sky of black.
Intense for awhile
then it recedes and draws back.
New life emerging
replacing the scene once tragic.
I am here with you
still safe, secure, and warm.
