Poetic Verses

Revenge

An eye for an eye
don't ask why
a tooth for a tooth
tell me the truth.
I won't seek revenge
for it is a sin
I'll have you know
that I can win.
No revenge will I bear
I will show love
that is fair,
I'll keep words to myself
I will not share
of hateful words
or be aware if
you choose to fight.
In this way I'll
walk in Christ's light
and I'll know in my heart
that I'm doing things right.
