Hey brother man what's the big rush?
I see your footprints in the dust
Hold on man, get a grip!
What caused you to jump the ship?
The young man turned to answer me
Fustration on his face plain to see
His answer was a shout in my ear
He was exhausted, he did not care
"Exodus! We have to go!
Exodus! If you'd care to know!
Exodus! We're sinking low!
I see there's nothing for us there
We have to leave our families dear
We run from suppression and tyranny
From ghetto swamps and hypocrisie
The state of our country grows very bleak
Poverty made our children weak
We've worked our fingers to the bone
Can't you hear our people groan?
Exodus! We seek greener grass!
Exodus! We're from the lower class!
Exodus! We'll find peace at last!"
