Sometimes in life we have to take a risk;
My risk is the loss of a friendship...
But we have to weigh up the risk...
And take it anyway if it's important enough.
This is important enough for that risk I take.
You are blinded by guilt over the past,
Over hurt that you caused one day,
But you are causing so much more you know!
Than my words could ever convey!
So I have written you an honest letter,
And laid it all on the line!
In the hope that you can see the light!
Rather than live blinded all the time!
Someone needed to open your eyes,
To the truth that belies behind!
And show you the error of your ways,
Because no, you can't turn back time!!
And the hurt you caused by words that day,
Are nothing compared to every day hence!
Because the one who gets hurt most constantly,
Is your husband, and in my defence!
In my defence; I am the one to do it!
And hope it makes you see the light!
So read my letter, heed my words,
And please, leave behind the dark of night!
Now to me I have always to tell it true;
Life is all about truth and honesty and more;
It's about being a really true friend,
And more, about that friend knowing the score!
So I take the risk of losing that friend,
By telling it as it is from the heart of me!
And hope that it makes a difference to you,
And maybe you will see some of what I see!
And that means stop the hurting!
Hurting you and your husband so true,
So for heavens sake woman, lose the past!
And let the loving inside you show through!
Because only one person in this triangle,
The very one who is hurt the most!
Is the very one who doesn't deserve it!
All because of the memory of a ghost!
You are so blind that you can't see!
Thrown into the dark of night!
Were distorted mirrors are the name of the game!
And forgiveness is so out of sight!
So here now are my words so true;
As I risk the loss of my friend with my words,
I think it is worth it, just to make sure,
The message I told you today has been heard!
