Buddy Puppy by Sonja
Buddy Puppy by Sonja
Once a wee sprite of a girl
Felt so alone with her fears.
Each night, her new pink pillow
was dampened by her sad tears.
She had asked her mom for her
very own puppy for years.
Mom always said "No!
Puppies make me sneeze."
But that didn't stop the wee gal.
She knew she had to have a puppy pal.
Each night she prayed while on her knees
Pleading: "Oh God, can I have a puppy please?"
Alas! By the time she was five
with no puppy in sight
she lay awake all one night.
As the morning sun peeked through
the curtain so pink.
She was given the answer,
ever so distinct.
She needed a puppy toy.
The very next day, while shopping with grandma
at the K-Mart "going out of business" sale
her heart leaped for joy.
Buried beneath the "for sale" heap
was a life-sized, stuffed puppy she could keep.
A stuffed puppy named Buddy became her
forever puppy friend.
Now she is ever so happy.
The End.
For my grand daughter.
