Heart Of The Matter

There Is A Light

There is a light that shines for you,
When all around is bleak,
When grief wells up within your throat,
And you find it hard to speak,

When you lose a friend, you can't replace,
There's an echo in your soul,
And painful tears flow freely,
The grief, you can't control,

When no one seems to understand,
The pain you're going through,
Remember, friend, there's someone,
That shines a light for you,

Sometimes it's hard to see it,
With eyes, diffused by tears,
But the light still shines as brightly,
As it has, for all these years,

For a special friend who's hurting,
 he knows who he is.
