SAYING GOODBYE (1)





Standing at the graveside
My pain I cannot hide
My heart pounding in my ears
And my face awash with tears.



I know it`s time to say goodbye
But all I want to do is cry,
The soil is handed round to all
But I just want to scream and bawl.



I take some in my hand at last
Then into the grave it is cast,
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Then go to God if you must.



Walking away while you lie there
To me is cruel and hardly fair,
My heart lies in the grave with you
My love for you will remain true.
