TRYING TO SLEEP

Hide in sleep, soft dreams I keep
So I won't think about him
Setting there in the house of them
Stirs up my blood
I feel like crud
It's been rude
With this grateful dude
Who doesn't have a clue
What I go through
With them living together
Alone in this sunny weather
I don't care what she is like
All I see is she has my Mike
It drives me crazy
Keeps me lazy
Writing poetry
As my mind won't free
His voice, his images, his phone number
All will be around to put me under
The spell he has over me
While he goes home to Marie
He chose, his choice
Trying to sleep away the voice
Inside of me
All about he
Bells outside ring
In fitful poetry I sing
My tale of woe
Has far to go
I took it as long as I could
It is not good
To love any man
Who won't grow to plan
A life with you
Just wants a screw
Or your remote control
Doesn't care about your soul
That is breaking
As he's forsaking
You again
As he chooses his friend
Over his lover
Trying to sleep, perhaps recover.
