AS A HUSBAND

Treating you good
As a wife should
Give you my trust
As a woman must

Cook you some dinner
You are the winner
Of my many tasks
I do before he asks

Has my house keys
Gets my kisses and tease
Can come inside anytime
Where we mainly rhyme

Started wearing the ring
In my kitchen I sing
Listen to his stories
He gets the glories

Of how I can flatter
I think it will matter
If I do my best
To give him some rest

As a husband of my heart
You come over then move apart
Back home to that house where sin
Let's none of us win

As coworkers tell me
Too bad she won't set him free
And he won't let go of her the same
While I'm here in the middle of this blame

Up in the air
Do you really care
If you did, you wouldn't go
Back home there where I don't know

What you guys do
If she still loves you too
Does she cry alone in bed
Think she's better off dead

Without your arms around her
Does the grief of you surround her
As it does me when sunset's near
And I know you're going there

You say you're single
A game to mingle
Having two houses to sleep in
Give up one and we'll begin

To get better or get worse
Because now you have the curse
Of the past you can't let go of
For the future filled with our love

Am I mistaken
To feel forsaken
As I can act like your wife
While as a husband, you play this game with my life.
