My Bairn

My goodness me you`re twenty-three
How time can fly so fast
Your birth was only yesterday
And now it`s in the past

I watched you, come wriggling through
Into this world of mine
Making me a Grandma
A very special time

Each year since then I once again
Relive that special day
When my bonnie lassie
Came home with us to stay

A Mama now and yet somehow
To me you`re just the same
Although you are a woman
You`ll always be my bairn

So today I hope and pray
That all your dreams come true
