THE COMFORTS OF MY HOME, NOT HERS

You come here like a
Stranger
Not a partner
Leaving
Back to where you go
I can say "I love you"
As it's fading
With each mile
Driven
By the feeling in the gut below.

You come here like a
Owner
Not a husband
Staying
I am just your "girlfriend"
Loner (who is)
Laying
Down the heart, body, and soul's shafts
That turn my mind
To how you have the laughs.

As you come here wanting
Faithfulness
Don't you think it's a little
Late for us
Because what I understand
Is she's living with
My man
Not me
There's three---with two to come
As I can no longer give you some.

I come here to write away
Blank
The pain in this hurt
That sank
Into the sadness I cannot
Stand
When you go home to her
After making love to me man!
From now on, you are only a friend
No comforts from me, until your comfort there completely ends.
